About one hour and forty minutes south of the Portland Metro area lies Corvallis Oregon. I stayed here a few years ago when all the rooms were booked up for a my daughter's graduation from the University of Oregon in Eugene. A gem of town with lovely public art and a warm, inviting ambiance. I hoped to return for another visit.
Fast forward a decade and my return was by invitation of one of
"Sista's" to stay overnight at heir home to meet her partner and have dinner together. We had a lovely evening enjoying Willamette Valley chardonnay and full-bodied Pinot Noir wines to accompany roasted cauliflower, steamed veggies, seared and roasted pork loin, with Linda's delightful and savory marionberry sauce. So delightful sharing food, drink, and communing! We left early and stopped for breakfast at the New Morning Bakery. Coffee, a breakfast sandwich for Linda, and biscuits and gravy with sausage for me helped ease the fogginess of a minor hangover. As Saturday is our usual farmers market day, we asked our navigation app where was the local market? Response: 0.1 miles - just to the left of our restaurant at Riverfront Commemorative Park! Back to the car for a grocery bag and off to market we went.
Here are some photos of the Corvallis Farmers Market from today. Enjoy!
Good old Corvallis! I grew up in southern Oregon, Klamath Falls. Eugene was the intellectual college, U of O and Oregon State at Corvallis had the realistic skills college, like tech and agriculture. Best of the two! Also, OTI was in my hometown, Oregon Technical Institute, which they have now manhandled the name ( OIT). ARGH! WEW
Thank you! I LOVE Corvallis! ❤️❤️❤️
